Alfred Zachertz received his first recorder lessons in his hometown Limbach-Oberfrohna.
Aged nine, he learned to play the violin. After having studied the viola at the Hochschule für Musik Leipzig with Professor Arnold Matz, he was engaged as solo violist at the state orchestra Leipzig. During this period, through studies with Gudrun Berger, Zachertz could distinguish himself on the recorder, thus making it his main instrument. During the last years his range of instruments was extended by Praetorius instruments such as loud altoregister, crooked horn and
chamois-horn. |

The duo Zachertz/Jochen plays concerts of chamber music in churches, castles and palaces since 2004. The concerts distinguish themselves by virtuosity and originality in the choice of the programpieces. The colour richness of different instruments let the instrumental pieces and dance tunes become a listening relish full of surprizes.
